Welcome to Ear-Rection:
I originally developed Ear-Rection for an 8-month-old Doberman Pincher. This dog was well outside the normal success rate window. In an attempt to provide customer satisfaction, I developed the soft tissue stabilizer. The stabilizer had to be tissue tolerable, as well as client compliant with finished procedure at time of surgery. The tissue tolerable stabilizer trains the ear to have a total erect posture. It allows the ear mobility and memory to come back to a desirable stance. Since the stabilizer allows the ear mobility, it strengthens the muscles of the ear to stand with no damage to the ear itself. In my opinion, this is the most humane surgical implant procedure used. This subcutaneous soft connective tissue stabilizer hastens recovery time by allowing cut skin edges to heal in an anaerobic environment permitting minimal scarring, both physically and mentally to the dog. The stabilizer, as a result of its inherent memory capability, can be adjusted to prevent any distortion to the cut ear margin by fine-tuning the implant. The ears can be modified with the implants in place by taping over the ear. I generally tape (rack) the ears at the time the stabilizer is removed to allow for dead space healing caused from the void. With the stabilizer in place, the owner is not restricted from continuing normal activities with the dog, including training. Ear-Rection gives the veterinarian the ability to provide successful cropping for clients with breeds requiring a longer ear crop. Veterinarians will find this procedure requires minimal office time and rechecks. This results in a more efficient and economical service of ear cropping with a higher client satisfaction rate. One of the biggest practice builders I have is the ability to offer corrective ear crop surgery for those that have previously failed. Ideally, the Ear-Rection implant and procedure is performed at 12 weeks of age. Ear-Rection is functional with the same technique on any age dog or breed for initial or corrective ear cropping with minimal post-operative care. The instructional video equips the veterinarian with the ability to perform an ear cropping with or without the ear stabilizers. The instructional video explains how to crop ears and also shows the alternative method of implantation. The video is for the veterinarian who has never before performed an ear cropping as well as offering the seasoned veterinarian the alternative of Ear-Rection. I have personally performed 2,000 plus ear cropping procedures using Ear-Rection, with a 99.9% success ratio. I have developed this not only for the ease of application but also for time conservation for the veterinarian; owner compliance and satisfaction; and the animal’s mental and physical well being. These all accomplish “The Look of Champions”.
